The activity started at 1990 when Korean martial arts teacher Young Suk (7. dan black belt) started teaching Han Moo Do (developed by himself) in Vaasa. At first master Young Suk was teaching only Han Moo Do, but later at 1992 he also started to teach other Korean self defence sports Hoi Jeon Moo Sool and Taiji (tae kuk kwon in Korean). Master Young Suk was teaching at Vaasa once in a week until the end of the 1994 after which he moved to Ylivieska and later to Oulu and after that to Rovaniemi. From 1995 has Young Suk heald different types of courses at Etelä- Pohjanmaa (also in Vaasa) about once in a month. In the courses students are learning e.g. weapon, fight and self defence techniques. Activity of our club The goal of the activity of Vaasa's Han Moo
Do -club is to keep up the good hobby. Although the club has gain success
in competitions (up to Finland's Champions -level), the main purpose is
not the competition itself but to keep the training of high level and
diversified. So far there hasn't been any seperate competition group in
the club. Although, everyone who wants to stake for the competitions can
have teaching and special practice for that. |
